Ascent of the Pic du Midi

Duration: 15 minutes

Departures: Every 1/4 hour

Cabin capacity: 45 people (PRM access) Type '/' for commands

A memorable cable car ride from La Mongie to the Taoulet intermediate station. Change platforms and another cabin awaits you for the second, more spectacular part, with a maximum flight of 320 metres.

⚠ Hiking friends : access to the Pic du Midi and its facilities is prohibited between the Col de Sencours and the Pic du Midi due to altitude works, during the summer of 2024 and 2025 (regulations applied by municipal decree).

Come by Car

Access to La Mongie via the D918 from Bagnères de Bigorre all year round. Access via the Col du Tourmalet during the summer.

From Toulouse

2H20 from La Mongie

Take the A64 motorway (1 hour's drive/180 km) and exit at junction 14 Tournay, heading for Bagnères de Bigorre, to join the D938 Sainte Marie de Campan, then the D918 towards La Mongie.

From Bayonne

2H30 desde La Mongie

If you want to go over the Col du Tourmalet, leave the motorway (exit 12 Tarbes Ouest) towards Lourdes, to reach Argeles-Gazost, Luz Saint Sauveur D 921 then follow the D918 via Barèges Col du tourmalet and finally La Mongie.

From Paris / Nantes / Bordeaux / Pau

Exit 12 (Tarbes-Ouest) from Pau. Then take the D935 from Tarbes to Bagnères de Bigorre.
