By cable car: Most visitors reach the Pic du Midi via the cable car that departs from the La Mongie ski resort. The cable car ride offers breathtaking views and takes about 15 minutes.

Access to the Pic du Midi is accessible on foot by summer 2026 via snow-free hiking trails. This is a high-mountain area; please check the routes on the appropriate topographic maps and review the weather forecast.

We recommend that you take your time to fully enjoy your visit. Generally speaking, you should plan on spending about 2 hours here, but the duration is up to you—there’s no return time you need to confirm when making your reservation. Allow an additional hour for the Planetarium option.

The panoramic restaurant Le 2877 offers regional dishes with a breathtaking view. Reservations are recommended.

People with limited mobility, including visitors in wheelchairs, can visit the Pic du Midi site during the day.

The rooms at "Une Nuit au Sommet" are not accessible to guests with limited mobility. The Hôtellerie des Laquets, however, has one specially adapted room.

The cable car ride is not recommended for children under 3 years of age. We advise you to contact your doctor for medical advice. The elevation difference between La Mongie and the Pic du Midi (1,077 m) is covered in less than 15 minutes. The inner ear of very young children is not sufficiently developed to withstand the pressure caused by the speed of this ride. Starting at age 3, the body reacts naturally, allowing the child to make the ascent safely.

Pregnant women are strongly advised against climbing to the summit due to the high altitude. There is a risk of complications such as high blood pressure or premature labor. A pregnant woman living at an elevation below 500 meters should not go above 2,000 meters. We recommend that you contact a healthcare professional for more information.
