The Pic du Midi is a natural meeting point in the region. Heritage, winter sports, haute cuisine, shows, science… they all come together in harmony with the rhythm of the seasons. In this place where the earth meets the sky, artistic and sporting endeavour take on a new meaning.
Concerts facing the Pyrenees!
A music stage installed at 2877 metres! That’s an event in itself. Music is also present of course, ever since a helicopter brought the first piano up to the terrace for the Festival Piano Pic which has organised a concert up here every year since. Artists with totally different styles perform for unforgettable moments: Boulevard des Airs in 2015, le Trottoir d’En Face and Synapson this summer 2016
Some pictures of the concert on 16th July 2016 given by Trottoir d’en Face and JB Bullet :
Ever since it was first open to the public, the summit has played host to exceptional events. This is your chance to see the Pic du Midi in a new light. An eclectic programme including sporting challenges such as the record breaking rope jump carried out by members of the Pyrénaline group. It is also home to mountain games and races, with the Grand Raid des Pyrénées, the Caminade, the Pyr’Epic mountain bike endurance challenge in the summer, and the Derby and the Coumes du Pic on skis in the winter. There’s even a tennis court on the terrace installed for a match between Guy Forget and Mansour Bahrami!
The Pic du Midi marked its involvement in Octobre Rose (the fight against breast cancer) with Yann Kersalé’s incredible show.
