Nestled at an altitude of 2,620 meters, just a stone's throw from the summit of the Pic du Midi, the Hôtellerie des Laquets welcomes you for a contemplative experience in the high mountains.
Everything has been designed with discerning enthusiasts in mind—those who seek out extraordinary experiences: high altitudes, silence, light, and the feeling of being close to the sky.
Accessible by cable car from the Pic du Midi, this century-old hotel now combines modern comfort with a setting that bears witness to the golden age of mountaineering in the Pyrenees.
Let yourself be enchanted by the silence of the mountain peaks and the purity of the starry sky!
Your experience begins with a cable car ride up to the Pic du Midi at 2,877m:
At the summit, feel free to enjoy the panoramic terraces and visitor areas;
At the end of the day, a private cable car will take you from the Pic du Midi to the Hôtellerie des Laquets at an altitude of 2,620m;
Relax in the hotel’s lobby bar or take in the breathtaking views from the terrace;
Book a session in the sauna or hammam (additional charge payable on site);
Marvel at the last rays of the sunset reflecting off the Pic du Midi and the Pyrenees mountain range;
Enjoy a dinner prepared by the Pic du Midi team and created by Michelin-starred chef Stéphane Tournié;
After a night in the heart of the mountains and breakfast with a view of the peaks, you’ll return to the Pic du Midi and the valley by cable car to La Mongie.
These two experiences offer the chance to discover the Pic du Midi and its exceptional panoramic views via a cable car ride from La Mongie.
The Night at the Top offers an immersive programme led by a guide, focusing on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Pic du Midi observatory at 2,877m, stargazing and astronomical observation.
The Laquets hotel (situated at 2,620m), meanwhile, offers a high-mountain retreat ideal for meditation and contemplation, both day and night, in the comfort of a Michelin-starred establishment. Dating from 1930, the hotel was completely renovated in 2026.
From La Mongie, take the cable car to the summit of the Pic du Midi at 2,877 metres. You will then reach the Hôtellerie via a private cable car linking the Pic du Midi to the Laquets.

A testament to the golden age of Pyrenean mountaineering, the Hôtellerie des Laquets is being reborn whilst honouring its historical and tourist heritage.
Built between 1930 and 1933 by the Compagnie des Hôtels de Montagne, the Hôtellerie des Laquets was for many years the essential stop-off on the route to the Pic du Midi. Early visitors, whether explorers or writers, would stay there before heading to the observatory. Linked to the summit by cable car from 1962 onwards, for decades it embodied the gateway to the stars.
Closed in 1996, it has been awaiting its rebirth ever since.
